i personally wasnt here for any of the past CC but as far as Jeff goes.. i really liked having Jeff as the CC of SS. On top of his IC and was raelly cool to have around OOC too

Jeff was an amazing CC, and I'm sure i'll mis m as one. Relly sad he's quiting the position. Well....I wouldn't mind canditating though.

Having given up the post for similar reasons to Jeff I can understand the dilemma well.

A Good CC needs to be able to authorise ideas and help put RP into practice, but often at the expense of their personal involvement IC. They also need to make decisions in character which affect the actions of other captains.

Naturally an active candidate has a better chance of keeping on top of the RP because they'll often be able to participate first hand, but if they can't there need to be things in place so that they can receive frequent updates from the other captains about current events and decisions which need to be made.

The Captain Commander must balance high expectations from others about their RP with appearing calm, friendly and impartial.

Fundamentally the CC has to work with the RP Management/GM's to produce interesting story lines and often it can feel like you're the only one keeping the RP afloat, this is why it's really important to delegate responsibilities.

I'd advise whoever succeeds Jeff to create a captain group if one doesn't already exist and use it|this forum to communicate with the other captains - for the RP to become more immersive, everyone, not just the CC, has to get involved a little more.

A Stable and long serving CC is vital to sim continuity, but we all have to work hard too.

well.. my leaving was kinda unexpected for me too... had to leave the country.... that was the reason of me leaving second life...
and yeah.. if i had known that i was to leave, i would not have taken the post at all... but yeah... I dont feel like leaving too...

Jeff is one of the very few people left in the higher shinigami hirachy that id have made captain, and i know that he did allot more then what he logged for me, because i saw it frequently [u need to remember to log stuff jeff =P] there was allot of chaos when the sim moved, and jeff was the first decent stability for the shinigami, he had a hard task and he did it well, congratulations Jeff.
